4Nothing could make me happier than getting reports that my children continue diligently in the way of Truth!

5Dear friend, when you extend hospitality to Christian brothers and sisters, even when they are strangers, you make the faith visible.

Nothing makes a Pastor happier than seeing people live a God-honoring life.

Like John my calling is to equip God's people for the work of mission and ministry.  (Mission is when a person is using their time, talent, treasure and testimony to serve those who cannot and will not attend DSC and ministry is using your time, talent, treasure and testimony to serve those who are in the DSC family)  I can certainly identify with John as he is celebrating Gaius who is a product of John's ministry.  Gaius is living in a way that is pleasing to God by continuing diligently in the way of Truth.  I like that understanding...not just a "whatever God gets He gets" but the understanding of a purposeful and diligent desire to serve and honor God by walking in the truth.  One of the ways that Gaius does that is by the way he shows love to Christian brothers and sisters who are passing through.

Life Application
Lord I want to stop and say thank you for the family of DSC where you have placed me.  Thank you for men and women who are continuing diligently in Your way.  Thank you for the love that is exhibited by this family who are hospitable to not just brothers and sisters in the faith but to those yet to become Christ-followers.

Thank you to all of you who make Pastoring at DSC a great joy, it is an honor to be your pastor.
